Former Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum Indicted on federal fundraising charges. Officials said Wednesday that Gillum was indicted on a 21-count federal indictment for fraudulent fundraising and other raps. Our present Gov. Ron DeSantis outcampaigned Gillum in the 2018 midterm elections. During the campaign, Gillum was under investigation by the FBI for alleged corruption in Tallahassee FL when he was the mayor. FBI agents took him on an NYC boat tour and provided Hamilton tickets!
The New York Post reports: Gillum, who narrowly lost to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2018, conspired with his mentor, Sharon Lettman-Hicks, to reroute campaign contributions for personal use, federal prosecutors said. Lettman-Hicks, who was also indicted, helped to divert a portion of the donations to a company she controlled and masked the fraud by painting the funds as payroll payments to Gillum. Gillum receded from the public eye after he was found with an overdosed male prostitute in a South Beach hotel room in March 2020. Married with three children, Gillum came out as bisexual after the episode. Considered a rising Democratic phenom in Florida, he lost to Ron DeSantis by a razor-thin margin of roughly 30,000 votes. God was looking out for Florida in that race! 🙏
From 09/13/18: FBI agents took Andrew Gillum on an NYC boat ride. The ride around the Statue of Liberty looked harmless enough. It was merely friends getting together to sight-see. At least that was what Mayor Gillum thought. Former federal agents and prosecutors say the outing provides an important look into the FBI’s long-running investigation into public corruption in Tallahassee. The lengths to which undercover agents went to investigate Gillum were extreme. Evidence shows that the boat trip and other events in New York were organized by undercover agents. Indeed, two agents were on the boat, unbeknownst to Gillum. And if FBI agents organized the outing, It implies that their interest in Andrew Gillum Indited had evolved into a “predicated” investigation. It would require the agents working the case to show their bosses that they have allegations or facts about criminal wrongdoing that would justify having Gillum aboard. The boat trip would also have likely required many layers of approvals from Justice Department officials in Washington, agents say.
Florida Politics reports on 04/22/20: The Miami Beach Police Department has released a collection of evidence including photographs from a March incident involving former Democratic gubernatorial nominee Andrew Gillum. Last month, Gillum was found in a Miami Beach hotel room with another man who was suspected of overdosing on crystal meth. Gillum was also found heavily intoxicated, though he later released a statement denying taking any drugs and saying he had drunk too much.
What is it about these Democrats who constantly get themselves into sticky situations? Yea, those of us living in Florida are so thankful Ron DeSantis won our gubernatorial race in 2018 by a razor-thin margin that initiated an automatic vote recount. Ron is running for a second term this year. Most of us that follow the topic wish him well. If Gillum would have won he would have eliminated our state’s prisons, and defunded our police.
